Let Marin Theatre Company nurture your children’s passion for theatre. Immerse them in the full theatre experience, from page to stage!
MTC’s Summer Theatre Camp is a full-day training program for students in grades 2 - 8, culminating in fully produced performances open to the public. Download the enrollment form now, and return it to us right away to reserve a space in the program before we sell out.
Each program features quality training with professional theatre artists during the morning and rehearsals during the afternoon. Students engage their imaginations, study their craft, and work together to put on a production. Classes include improvisation, musical theatre, dance, playwriting, and acting techniques. Final performances are fully produced with costumes, lights and sets. Camps are held Monday - Friday | 10am - 5pm (extended care not available).

Madeline and the Gypsies by Ludwig Bemelmans

When Madeline and her friend Pepito get lost during a visit to the carnival and end up carried away by gypsies, their adventures with a traveling circus begin! We are sorry to announce that due to scheduling issues we are not able to offer the Teen Musical this year. We encourage Marin County teens to participate in the Marin Young Playwrights Festival and our other teen programs.
Both full and partial scholarships for all MTC Education programs are available -- download the scholarship application here and return it with your registration form. Scholarship applications are due March 1, and all scholarship applications will be reviewed in the first week of March.
Show Night
by Justine Marler, age 11
At night the flashy silver letters of Marin Theatre Company stand out in the dark sky. Upon entering, one immediately smells the delicious treats waiting in the corner. You hear the hammering of workers repairing last-minute props backstage. You see directors running around with clipboards and pencils wedged behind their ears. You feel your stomach flip with the excitement -- the show is about to start!
"Thump, Thump," four actors from the Stinky Cheese Man production are noisily making their way down the stairs backstage. Once behind the curtains, I waited for my cue. I watched as Chickin' Lickin' waddled onstage for her part, the audience were loving it! I nervously adjusted my fox ears. Then it came. My cue. Without thinking, I jumped onstage feeling the warm comforting rays of the spotlight hit my face. I smiled.
