MTC's internships are designed to provide experience and preparation for beginning a career in the professional theatre. Interns work closely with members of MTC's artistic and administrative staff, attending departmental meetings, interacting with patrons, and taking on real responsibilities in connection with MTC's programs and productions. Announcing Equity Principal Auditions!
Monday, March 14, 2011 | 9am - 5pm
No appointment necessary - Actors will be seen on a first come, first serve basis. Non-Equity actors are welcome to attend and will be placed on a wait-list. Equity performers will be seen first.
Preparation: Please prepare two contrasting monologues - each actor will have three (3) minutes. (Please no songs...there will NOT be an accompanist available.)

Marin Theatre Company accepts full scripts of plays and musicals for season consideration when submitted by an agent; playwrights may submit a letter of inquiry that includes a play synopsis and resume. Due to the high volume of submissions, response time for full scripts is approximately six to nine months. Submission via email is encouraged. Now in it's fifth year, Marin Theatre Company's two new play prizes were established to in 2007 to celebrate the work of the American playwright and to encourage the creation of bold, powerful new voices and plays for the American stage. The Sky Cooper New American Play Prize is awarded to an emerging or established playwright for an outstanding new work, and is given a $10,000 cash prize and option for production on MTC's main stage. The David Calicchio Emerging American Playwright Prize is awarded to a professionally unproduced playwright for a new work that shows outstanding promise and a distinctive new voice, and is given a $2500 cash prize and a workshop as part of MTC's New Works Reading Series. These prizes serve to further MTC’s commitment to the development of new plays as a central component of its artistic programs.
